The way i look at comtech, it's a course that allows you to define yourself and distinguish yourself from the other management courses. Given this premise, it's only through your own effort and skills na makikilala ka.
Given naman na malayo ang comtech sa numbers kumpara sa ibang course. Misconceptions are part of the deal, since it's relatively new. I share your disappointment, but I see potential in it.

Although it's seen as a mix of 3 courses, i don't feel bad about it, because I see versatility in it. And when you are able to develop your versatility, you can bank on that notion.
Ayaw kasi ng Henyo na makulong sa isang specific definition ng kung anong ginagawa mo. Ang stereotyped na kasi ng ibang mga management courses e, mukhang planado na lahat ng gagawin mo e. Wala nang room for innovation.
I like the idea of selling the "Comtech factor" to companies and helping them understand what our course really is. I like showing them a new view of management, and how it can be done creatively.

Pare, as much as frustrated ka, you can learn more complex accounting and finance on your own. Ang lamang lng naman ng mga BS Mgt ay mas maraming chapter lang ang nabasa nila sa libro. Magaling ka naman e, napatunayan na yan several times.
Oo nga pala, while at the job fair last week, tinanong ako ng taga-Toyota, Unilever, at GSK kung anong course ko. Sabi ko comtech. Sabi nila ilagay ko sa choices ko marketing o I.T. So at least, people are starting to know us. Tsaka i know a lot of other SOM people who don't know shit about computers.
I suggest that you get over this sense of confusion or bewilderment, kasi a lot of other "comtechs" are still in that stage. If you could get a working definition of what you're really doing, its gonna be an advantage over them.
Think of it this way. other management courses are too linear. Too predictable. Ours is quite parabolic.
Its great because I can still define where i am going.
